Okay, yes I am from Manchester so this may be slightly biased, but, how good was the football last night?
The atmosphere at college was amazing today and it got me thinking how one seemingly insignificant event (sorry guys – in comparison to the looming exams my peers and myself are facing it is less important!) can raise spirits so much. Granted today was also the last proper day of college for us ever (how terrifing!), but still! It was the happiest history double i’ve ever had with this particular teacher! And one guy said something I thought was amazing! “I’ve seen pictures of Jews in the Holocaust who looked happier than John Terry!” http://youtube.com/watch?v=_HAi_hdTJyE :D
So if a simple (long) football match can do so much good to a student’s mood, what else could? Right this second I thought what if some kind of student game/match/competition thing was developed before exams to lift moods, but that wouldn’t work as someone has to lose and that is not what you want before your A Levels! But seriously, this is exact thing us students need to lift us up from the massive amounts of revision we need to undertake.
Also, it pisses me off so much when people question why more and more students are getting A grades. ‘Oh it must be exams getting easier! Lets make them harder, that’ll teach them for doing well! ’
NO! No no no no no! That is wrong on so many levels! Why can’t we just be getting smarter? Trying harder? Being taught better? Why does no one have faith in students nowadays?
Fucking annoying.
Don’t punish our doing well in exams by making them harder, makes no sense! Think exams are easier when you did them? Fuck off
